Deeds Index Search

How It Works

You MUST Register as a user to view, purchase, and print copies of documents on the Online Search

Self-Service Search & Copies

No search fees apply when you do it yourself! You only have to pay for copies that are downloaded or printed. You can search current records, browse index data, and make copies online back to June 19, 1964. For earlier records, you can visit our office or contact us to request digital copies. If you do the searching yourself, there is no charge. If our staff performs the search, the fee is $0.50 per year for each search ($5 minimum) plus the cost of copies.

For assistance, refer to the Help Section.

Fraud Prevention & Monitoring

Fraud Guard is a tool that helps protect you or your business from becoming the victim of property fraud. It can also alert you to any property, mortgage, or real estate activity in Clinton County associated with names you select. Once registered for the free service, you will receive an email notice whenever a monitored name appears on a document being recorded in this county. Some reasons people use Fraud Guard include:

  1. Having financial issues (e.g., tax or foreclosure) related to property and wanting to monitor liens.
  2. Going through a divorce and needing to track property changes.
  3. Monitoring an elderly parent’s property for major changes.
  4. Starting a construction project and needing to track construction liens.

To activate this service, you first must register on the Register of Deeds online search system and log in.
