In the interest of public health, the public is encouraged not to attend court proceedings unless necessary. Courts may use videoconferencing and other available technology when permitted. When possible, please conduct court business by telephone or email.

Videoconferencing Hearings

The use of videoconferencing technology by participants is presumed for certain hearings unless the court determines otherwise.

District Court: See Michigan Court Rule (MCR) 2.408(C) for the list of eligible hearings.

All other Zoom appearances must be pre-approved by the court.

The operations of the 65A District Court are constitutionally and statutorily mandated. Citizens have more contact with District Court than any other court in the state. Criminally, District Court handles all adult misdemeanors where punishment does not exceed one year and relevant proceedings including arraignment, setting bond, trial and sentencing. It also conducts preliminary examinations in felony cases.


District Court also has exclusive jurisdiction of all civil litigation up to $25,000 and handles garnishments, eviction proceedings, land contract and mortgage foreclosures and small claims cases. The District Court also adjudicates all vehicle code and statute/ordinance violations.

You will need your case number and/or ticket number (also known as citation number). Access the payment site for this court using Pay Location Code (PLC) 1919. You will be leaving the Clinton County District Court webpage.
