[ARCHIVED] Voluntary tornado drill today, Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 1:00 PM

As part of Severe Weather Awareness Week, Michigan will be conducting a voluntary tornado drill today, Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 1:00 PM. Clinton County Central Dispatch WILL NOT be testing outdoor warning sirens at this time.

Clinton County Central Dispatch will however conduct monthly testing of all in-county tornado sirens at noon on the first Saturday of each month, April through October.  REMEMBER: SIRENS ARE JUST ONE LAYER OF MULTIPLE SYSTEMS INTENDED TO ALERT YOU OF DANGER. They are NOT intended to be heard indoors and should NOT be relied upon as your only source of alerts.

Clinton County Emergency Management encourages everyone to use today’s voluntary tornado drill to consider where you would go if an actual tornado warning had been issued regardless of where you might be at that time.

We would also like to suggest everyone have multiple ways of receiving emergency alerts and information. If you have not already done so, please consider visiting https://www.clinton-county.org/655/Rave-Alert to sign up for free emergency alerts in Clinton County.
